HABIX®

The Habix coupling is a torsionally flexible fail-safe claw coupling made of grey cast iron with an elastomer star.

This star is the heart of the elastomer coupling. It transmits the torque and compensates for axial, radial and angular shaft misalignments. The hardness of the elastomer core determines the torque to be transmitted and ensures important factors such as damping and torsional stiffness.

The Habix shaft coupling is available in two different designs. The HWN type is pre-drilled as standard and is also available from stock with cylindrical finish bores with keyway and set screw for standard shaft diameters. In addition, special bores or profile splines are possible on request.

The HWT design is prepared for the installation of commercially available taper bushes.

The taper bush system offers a simple, cost-effective and flexible variant of the shaft-hub connection. Due to the internationally standardised sizes of the taper bushings, changes in the bore diameters can be implemented easily and quickly from stock.
